Blockchain for Good Alliance Releases Inaugural Impact Report

DUBAI, UAE — February 13, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Blockchain for Good Alliance (BGA), a non-profit founded by Bybit, has released its inaugural impact report, “The State of Blockchain for Good: A View from the Alliance.” The report assesses the application of blockchain technology to global challenges.

The report incorporates insights from global policymakers, UN agencies, industry leaders, and ecosystem partners following the Blockchain Impact Forum held in Copenhagen last November. BGA’s report examines blockchain’s current delivery of public value, adoption stalls, and changes needed for the technology to mature into digital public infrastructure.

The report positions blockchain as a practical tool for strengthening systems across finance, climate action, identity, aid distribution, education, and inclusive economic development. It emphasizes responsible governance and deployment.

The report identifies an inflection point for the sector, noting that while many blockchain solutions are technically mature, institutional readiness, funding alignment, and governance frameworks remain primary bottlenecks. It calls for collaboration among governments, multilateral institutions, and industry to scale successful pilots.

Helen Liu, founder of BGA and co-CEO of Bybit, stated that the focus has shifted to how institutions adopt, govern, and scale blockchain for impact.

“The question is no longer just about whether blockchain can be used for public good,” said Helen Liu, founder of BGA and co-CEO of Bybit. “The question now is how institutions choose to adopt, govern and scale blockchain for impact, and BGA is well positioned to continue convening global initiatives to help guide this process.”

“The State of Blockchain for Good” reflects BGA’s perspective, synthesizing lessons from builders and partners. It highlights efforts across hackathons, incubation, joint funds, and the BGAwards. The report also outlines BGA’s outlook for the industry over the next 12 to 36 months, including recommendations on policy design, blended finance, interoperability, and ethical safeguards.

Glenn Tan, Director of global affairs at BGA, invites the industry to build responsibly and collaborate across sectors. He believes the report will serve as a reference point and a global call to action.

“This report is not just a celebration of blockchain’s role in driving global impact,” said Glenn Tan, Director of global affairs at BGA. “It is an invitation for the industry to build responsibly, collaborate across sectors and ensure blockchain’s next chapter is written in service of people, institutions and the public good.”
