Galan Lithium Achieves Milestone in HMW Project Construction
PERTH, AU — February 15, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Galan Lithium Limited (ASX:GLN) has announced progress in the construction of its Hombre Muerto West (HMW) Project in Argentina’s Catamarca Province. The overall Phase 1 construction is about 85% complete, with the first processed brine expected in early Q2 2026 and the first lithium chloride concentrate targeted in H1 2026.
Galan’s Managing Director, Juan Pablo (JP) Vargas de la Vega, highlighted the successful delivery of the nanofiltration plant to the HMW site. He noted that the Galan team has accumulated approximately 9,500 tonnes (LCE) of lithium brine inventory in the HMW ponds over the past two years. The company plans to complete the assembly and commissioning of the nanofiltration plant to facilitate the production of processed lithium brine from HMW.
Galan and Authium teams have started assembling the nanofiltration plant on-site, and assembly is expected to be completed in the coming weeks. The plant’s design, testing, construction, and transportation were completed on an accelerated schedule. Vargas de la Vega credited the Authium and Galan teams for their collaborative efforts.
The nanofiltration plant is a key component of Galan’s processing flowsheet, enabling the efficient treatment of brine in the Phase 1 production process.
The construction of sylvinite ponds for Phase 1 operations is now complete. These ponds are designed to accelerate the evaporation of processed brine, leading to faster production of lithium chloride concentrate. Following a successful capital raising in January 2026, Galan will continue construction work on the evaporation ponds after commissioning the nanofiltration plant, supporting an expanded production rate of 5,200 tpa LCE.
Key milestones for the HMW Project include completion of nanofiltration plant assembly, commissioning and testing of brine processing systems, first processed brine, and first lithium chloride concentrate production.
